FAQ

Answers to common questions about Consentful — compliance, performance, privacy, pricing and platforms.

Does Consentful make my site GDPR compliant?

It gives you what GDPR and the ePrivacy rules require of a cookie banner — prior consent, equal Accept and Reject, granular categories, script blocking, withdrawal and proof of consent — with GDPR-safe defaults. Compliance also depends on your setup and policies, so it isn't a guarantee or legal advice.

Yes, on every plan including Free, and it's on by default. See the Consent Mode v2 guide.

Does it block YouTube videos and other embeds?

Yes. Turn on Block embeds until consent on the Scripts tab: YouTube, Vimeo, TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, Spotify, Google Maps and other embeds show a "Load content" placeholder until the visitor accepts their category, or clicks to load that one embed. It's included on every plan. How it works.

Will it slow my site down?

No. The script is small, loads with defer, and is served from a global CDN (on WordPress it ships inside the plugin and is served from your own site).

Do you collect my visitors' data?

No. Visitors' choices stay in their own browser. The only request to us is a license check containing your site's domain. On WordPress there isn't even that: the plugin never contacts our servers from your live site. See our Privacy Policy.

Which platforms does it work on?

Framer, Webflow, WordPress and Shopify natively, and any other site with one script tag.

Is there a free plan?

Yes — one site, forever, with full compliance features: a Consentful-branded bottom bar with the standard English wording and the four standard categories. Preview domains get the full design free. Paid plans unlock your own design, wording, languages and categories. Need more sites on a paid plan? Add extra sites from $5/month each.

What's the difference between the paid plans?

Only the number of sites: Solo 1, Studio 5, Agency 25, Lifetime 3. Every paid plan has every Pro feature.

Can I remove "Powered by Consentful"?

On Framer, Webflow, Shopify and the embed snippet, a small credit appears on every plan. On WordPress the credit is off unless you turn it on.

Can I use one license on several platforms?

Yes. A license covers domains, not platforms.
