Consentful

Framer

Add a GDPR cookie consent banner with Google Consent Mode v2 to your Framer site using the Consentful plugin — install, activate and publish.

Install the plugin

In Framer, open Plugins (⌘/Ctrl + K → "Consentful") or find Consentful on the Framer Marketplace, and open it in your project.

Activate

Paste your license key on the first screen. Consentful reads your site's domain from Framer and adds it to your license.

Set up the banner

Go through the tabs on the left — Categories, Behavior, Consent Mode, Scripts, Theme. The defaults are already GDPR-safe, so you can skip straight to publishing. Click Preview to see it on a sample page.

Publish

Open the Publish tab and click Install banner. This adds Consentful's script to the start of your site's <head> (Framer's custom code). Nothing is added to your site until you click it. Then click Publish in Framer (top-right) to make it live.

Changes you make later are saved in the plugin only. When you're ready, click Update banner and publish your site again. Remove banner takes Consentful's script out of your site's custom code.

Consentful needs Framer's custom code feature. If the footer of the plugin says "Custom code disabled", enable custom code for the site in Framer's settings (it may require a paid Framer site plan).

If the plugin shows View only, your Framer account doesn't have permission to edit this site's custom code. You can look around, but nothing can be saved or published. Ask a project owner for edit access, then reopen Consentful.

Tips

  • *.framer.website and *.framer.app addresses show the full banner without using a site on your license, once activated with a key (a free key works).
  • Add Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and other trackers on the Scripts tab instead of pasting them into Framer's custom code, so they wait for consent. See Blocking scripts.
